Coronavirus vaccination activities started in BGB

Press release: To protect the members of `Vigilant guard at the border` Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) from the ongoing global epidemic of corona virus (Covid-19), the country has started vaccinating against corona virus under the corona virus vaccination program.

 

On the morning of 7 February 2021, BGB Additional Director General (Medical) Brigadier General Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam Khan as the 1st BGB Member at the BGB Guard Hospital, Pilkhana Training Ground at the BGB Guard Hospital, Dhaka. . Additional Director General of BGB, senior officers, soldiers and other civilians were present at the time.

Border Guard Bangladesh plans to administer corona virus vaccine to officers, JCOs and other members working in BGB in 12 steps from 9:00 am to 1400 hours daily from 7 February 2021 to 20 February 2021 (excluding Fridays). In this context, a total of 300 BGB members, including uniformed and civilian BGB members, have been vaccinated against corona virus in the first phase today. Subsequently, a plan has been taken to give this vaccine to a total of 3600 people from BGB headquarters and other units in Peelkhana, 300 people per working day.

 

It is to be noted that the BGB members have been carrying out the great responsibility of guarding the country`s borders day and night despite the direct guidance of the Hon`ble Prime Minister and the adherence to the guidelines given by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health. The corona virus has so far been the least active member of the BGB, according to statistics, with proper adherence to corona hygiene.
