Journalist Jaharlal Chandra passes away

Online Desk : Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ)’s former leader and Bengali daily Dainik Sangbad’s ex-editing assistant Jaharlal Chandra Das passed away on Sunday night at his residence in old city at the age of 62.

Das breathed his last around 11.45 pm, family sources said.

He had been suffering from prolonged physical complications, reports BSS.

He is survived by wife, two sons and a host of relatives and admirers.

Das worked for Dainik Sangbad as editing assistant for long.

He led DUJ in different posts including joint secretary.

He also played a pioneer role in establishing Dhaka Sangabadik Paribar Bahumukhi Samabay Samity.

Das, hailing from Matlab upazila of Chandpur district, was cremated at city’s Postogola cremation ground on Monday morning.
