JU students asked to leave halls
  Date : 25-04-2024

Online Desk : The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) have asked the students, who forcibly entered and are staying at the dormitories, to vacate halls by 10 am on Monday.

Otherwise the authorities will take legal action against them.

The university authorities issued the notice, signed by acting Registrar Rahima Kaniz, on Sunday midnight.

A group of students have been staying at some halls, which have been closed from March 19, 2020, due to coronavirus pandemic, violating the government`s rules since Saturday evening. They are asked to leave the halls by 10am. Otherwise the authorities will take legal action against them, the notice said.

On Saturday, students unlocked the doors of some halls as the authorities did not take any step to fulfill their three-point demand, including hall reopening, and are staying there defying directives of the government.
