One died after getting electrocuted in Gomstapur

Faysal Azam Apu, Chapainawabganj: A man named Zainul Ali (56) died after being electrocuted at Gomstapur in Chapainawabganj. His body was recovered from the Koria Beel area around 11pm on Saturday (April 10). He is the son of late Khaburuddin of Goal Mor village in Bangabari union of the upazila. According to the victim`s family sources, Zainul Ali came out of the house on Saturday (April 10) morning to irrigate the paddy field. When he did not return home in the evening, his relatives started searching for him. At one stage, while searching the land, he saw his body lying. According to local sources, he was involved in the electrical wiring of the semi-deep tubewell. There was a line of bamboo poles hanging on the ground. He was found to have deep burns on both his legs. Locals claim that the accident took place due to the negligence of Gomstapur Electricity Sales and Distribution Department.
