Famid Mandal, accused in various cases strangled by Step brother in Kushtia

Abdur Razzak Bachchu, Kushtia: Famid Mandal (42), accused in various cases including drug smuggling in Jamalpur village bordering Kushtia`s Daulatpur, was strangled to death by his half-brother Milon Mandal. The murder took place at Enamul`s tea shop next to Famid Mandal`s house on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Famid Mandal, son of Nanda Mandal of Jamalpur village.

Officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station Mohammad Zahurul Alam said the deceased Fahim Mandal was sitting at Enamul`s tea shop next to his house in Jamalpur. Coming from behind, his half-brother Milon Mandal strangled him with a sharp weapon and fled. The OC further said that it is being speculated that the murder may have taken place with the help of drug money. There are several cases including drug case against Dahimpur police station against the deceased Fahim Mandal. The OC also said that an operation was underway to nab the killer Milon Mandal.

The body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Kushtia GeneralHospital for autopsy.
