Quader urges BNP to shun politics of blame game over COVID-19
  Date : 25-04-2024

Online Desk : Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday urged BNP to be alert in dealing with coronavirus, shunning the politics of blame game.

“Even the coronavirus did not spare Begum Khaleda Zia, so now our politics is to stand by the country’s people. To tackle the invisible enemy, BNP must quit the politics of blame game,” he told a function through videoconferencing from his official residence here.

The AL’s Health and Population Affairs Sub-Committee arranged the function at AL President’s Dhanmondi Office to distribute COVID-19 safety gears.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said the instance of humanity Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina set after 1975 would be remembered forever and the country’s people are aware of what Sheikh Hasina is doing for them.

He asked the AL leaders and workers to remain alert so that no misappropriation takes in relief distribution.

Using facemask is the key tool to prevent coronavirus and that is why all should wear masks, the AL general secretary said, urging the AL leaders and activists to conduct a countrywide awareness campaign on COVID-19 to build the forts of awareness at the household level.

He said experts are predicting that the third wave of coronavirus may hit after the second wave in India.

The third wave of coronavirus could be more devastating, so all must be aware of it despite having limitations, Quader added.

Chaired by AL Sub-Committee chairman Dr AFM Ruhal Haque, the meeting was attended, among others, by AL health affairs secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana and its deputy office secretary Sayem Khan.
