Online Report : A mobile court assisted by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a drive at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and arrested 24 brokers on Thursday.

Palash Kumar Basu, executive magistrate of RAB, conducted the operation, sentenced each of them to one month imprisonment.
Magistrate, RAB and hospital representatives were present during the three-hour operation from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The mobile court’s operation against the brokers’ syndicate at the DMCH will continue, the executive magistrate said.

At the end of the operation, the executive magistrate said, “The operation was conducted on the basis of specific information. These brokers would take the innocent patients to various private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers alluring them to provide a lower cost than the government hospitals for examinations and speedy surgery with renowned professors.”

He said they have all confessed to the allegations after their arrest in the raid.
