Quantum burial service active even in strict lockdown
  Date : 26-04-2024

MT Desk: The Quantum Foundation, one of the voluntary organizations in the country, is actively involved in the burial of corpses in Corona, even in the midst of all-out lockdown across the country. Thousands of Quantum volunteers are working 24 hours a day or night to say goodbye, regardless of religion or caste. Despite the lockdown, relentless humanitarian service activities are going on all over the country including the capital.

Quantum Foundation workers have cremated nearly 4,000 bodies since 2020. Of these, 3428 were Muslims, 487 were traditional, 22 were cremated and 34 were buried.

Khandaker Sajibul Islam, in charge of Quantum Burial in Kakrail, told The Muslim Times, "We were able to stay by the side of 20 bodies in Dhaka till night on the first day of the nationwide lockdown on July 1.

Quantum has been attending funerals of people with corona or corona symptoms since the beginning of Corona in April 2020 last year. Self-planning, self-financing and voluntary care of the volunteers is going on in the burial service. Funeral workers are working tirelessly to take part in the Quantum Funeral Service activities at the Dhaka Funeral Camp. Many are taking part even after coming from home. In all, more than two hundred volunteers are involved in burial services in Dhaka. Some of these volunteers are students, some are teachers, some are journalists, some are businessmen and some are lawyers. There is a separate group of women volunteers of different ages in different professions. Apart from Muslims, there are separate arrangements for followers of other religions. This volunteer team of the organization comes forward with human values.

This service of Quantum is following the proper religious rituals in accordance with the rules of health. In addition to the hospital, the Quantum service is running in its own bathroom in Kakrail by disinfecting it and arranging it in the final condition. However, this year`s picture is not as inhumane as last year`s picture. Last year, not coming to the funeral or burial of relatives, leaving the body and fleeing was a daily occurrence. This year, many of his relatives are staying by his side. Taking part in the janaza. They are taking responsibility for the burial themselves.

Incidentally, among the versatile services of Quantum, burial service activities were launched in Rajshahi in 2004. Since 2020, the Quantum Foundation in Corona has been able to set a shining example of humanity in the funerals of the dead in Corona. Even in this severe lockdown, the workers are rushing to the hospital, home, graveyard or crematorium as soon as they get the phone. Quantum workers are ready to serve any disaster in the country from human values.
