Seven returnees shifted to Ashkona Hajj camp from hospital as they test negative for coronavirus

Seven persons, who were admitted to a city hospital on suspicion of possible exposure to coronavirus following their return from China on Saturday, have been sent to Ashkona Hajj camp as their medical examination reports came out negative. Brig Gen Jamil Ahmad, director of Kurmitola General Hospital, confirmed this to daily sun on Monday morning.

He said, “Meanwhile, one of the 304 Bangladeshi returnees from the coronavirus-hit Chinese city of Wuhan, who are now kept quarantined at the Hajj camp, was admitted to the Kurmitola General Hospital with cough on Sunday night. A total of 312 Bangladeshis, who were stranded in Wuhan, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Saturday morning.

Of the returnees, 304 were kept quarantined in Ashkona Hajj camp where they would stay for 14 days under observation. Seven Bangladeshi returnees were sent to Kurmitola General Hospital and another to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) directly from the airport as they had high body temperature. The seven persons will now be kept quarantined in Ashkona Hajj camp.
