The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education directed all residential educational institutions to reopen hostels following the government-set health regulations to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and dengue.

The residential students were asked to return to their hostels after getting negative results in Covid RT-PCR tests.

The institutions were asked not to reopen the places of gathering, including cafeteria, dining as well as TV and sports rooms.

Institutions were also asked not to allow more than one student on one bed.

The government on September 5, in an inter-ministerial meeting, decided to reopen all types of educational institutions from primary to higher secondary levels on September 12.
