RU students demand reopening of dormitories by Sept 30

Online Desk : Rajshahi University (RU) students on Sunday staged a demonstration on the campus to press home their three- point demand including reopening of dormitories by September 30.

The students also demanded steps for preventing the private hostels owner from taking money from admission seekers and permission for setting a help desk for helping the admission seekers.

They brought a procession from in front of the administration building-5..

Mohabbat Hossain Milon, a student of Islamic Studies department, said if the dormitories are not reopened, the admission seekers will face a lot of problems. "So, we want the dormitories to be reopened by September 30."

After a meeting with the students, Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar, vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University, said the decision of reopening of dormitories will be taken after a meeting of academic council on September 30.

The university`s admission test is scheduled to begin from the first week of October.
