`BNP won`t join polls under partisan EC`
  Date : 24-04-2024

Online Report : BNP’s standing committee member Mirza Abbas has said his party would not participate in any election commission formed under the current government.

“We will not go to the polls under any election commission which is formed by this government,” said Abbas at a seminar held at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Dhaka on Saturday.

Abbas called on the BNP secretary general to take initiative to hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan and said, “We will not take anyone’s permission and hold a meeting at Suhrawardy Udyan. BNP have millions of leaders and activists and we will hold a rally without permission.”

He further said, “People of the country are now saying that Awami League will quit soon and BNP will come to power. If we cannot defeat our enemy in any way then the existence of independence would be lost. The people of this country are not able to speak freely.”
