MT Desk: At a discussion and prayer meeting presided over by Abdul Aziz Hawlader, executive president of the party organized by the Muslim League on the 19th death anniversary of Alhaj MA Salam, former president of Bangladesh Muslim League and one of the founders of Chittagong University of Science and Technology, the leaders said, He is a heroic soldier. His contribution to the people of the country as a national leader, successful industrialist and eminent educationist is unforgettable. ” The leaders further said, “The massive violence and massive loss of life in the ongoing Union Parishad elections is a manifestation of the political crisis in the country. People are not able to exercise their voting right even in local government elections. There is a kind of lack of democracy and dictatorship in the country. We have to overcome this situation. The people have to give back their right to vote. ” Alhaj Kazi Abul Khair, chief negotiator and secretary general of the party, said, “There is a conspiracy to make the country zero opposition. The ongoing local government elections are a blatant example of the lawsuits against the opposition leaders and the latest attacks on the leaders of the People`s Rights Council at Maulana Bhasani`s shrine in Tangail. ” He also demanded that BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia be sent abroad for immediate treatment.

At the end of the discussion, prayers were offered in the court of Almighty Allah for the forgiveness of the soul of the deceased.
