2 held with arms and drugs in Faridpur

K.M. Rubel, Faridpur : Members of  Detective Branch (DB) conducted two separate raids and arrested two persons with foreign weapons and drugs. Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Administration) Mohammad Jamal Pasha said this at a press briefing of Faridpur district police at 10 am on Wednesday. District Intelligence Branch Officer-in-Charge Rakibul Islam was present at the time.

The police official said that in the last 24 hours, they searched the house of Khairuzzaman alias Rizvi Sheikh (21) in Bhajandanga area of ​​the suburbs and recovered 3 rounds of 7.65 firearms (pistol) and a magazine. Rizvi was arrested in this connection.

In another incident, 6 kg of cannabis, 10 bottles of phencidil and Tk 50,000 in cash were recovered from Khokon Khan`s house in Komarpur area. Khokon Khan has been arrested in this connection.

Faridpur District Intelligence Branch Officer-in-Charge Rakibul Islam said separate cases have been filed with Kotwali Police Station in both the cases. Besides, the accused Rizvi will be taken to Faridpur Judicial Court No.1 in the case of arms recovery and remand for 7 days for questioning will be sought.
