Poets, reciters protest ban on politics after Bangabandhu`s assassination: PM
  Date : 28-03-2024

News Desk : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said poets and recital artists had staged protest against ban on politics after the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"After August 15, 1975, when political activities were not possible at all, the protest language was uttered by our poetry and people were inspired by those poetries," she said.

She also pointed out that nothing else can inspire people to protest as much what can be possible to do through the practice of poetry, song, drama and culture.

The premier made this remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of “Bangabandhu National Recitation Festival 2020-2022” and awarding Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib National Recitation Medal 2020-22 as the chief guest.

She joined the function virtually at Shilpakala Academy in the capital from her official residence Ganabhaban.
