Food Minister and valiant freedom fighter Sadhan Chandra Mazumder had been suffering sickness for several days due to inflammation in his gall bladder. As his condition worsened on Sunday (March 5) morning, he was brought in Dhaka from Naogaon by an air ambulance.

Sadhan Chandra Mazumder`s PRO Kamal Hossain said the food minister went to Naogaon on March 1 to attend various political programmes in his constituency at Sapahar-Porsha-Niamatpur and participate in the death anniversary programmes of late Awami League general secretary Abdul Jalil in Naogaon on March 6. Since then he had been staying there.

On Friday (March 3) last, the minister felt sickness while attending a political programme in Porsha. He also underwent some tests at the advice of local physicians in the evening. In the examination, it was found that the food minister developed infection in his gall bladder.

Because of it, the district civil surgeon later advised the minister to go back to Dhaka. But, instead of going to Dhaka, he was taking treatment staying at home in Naogaon under the supervision of Professor Dr Sanwar Hossain of Square Hospital.
