China to build 150-bed Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit at CMCH

Online Desk : The Chinese government will build a 150-bed Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) as a gift to Bangladesh.

In this regard, an agreement will be signed between the Bangladesh and China governments on Monday (March 13).

CMCH Director Brigadier General Shamim Ahsan said an agenda of the meeting with a visiting Chinese delegation was signed at the hospital`s conference room on Saturday morning. The members of the delegation visited the site of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit over the last 12 years. They have examined all the designs of the building and other related issues.

The Chinese delegation was led by Chinese Embassy`s secretary She Chen. Noted burn specialist Dr Samanta Lal Sen was present there.

Following the meeting, Shamim Ahsan said there are many crises prevail at the CMCH`s Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit. There is no modern equipment. Besides, there is crisis of beds. The Chinese government will build an 150-Bed Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit which will be equipped with modern equipment.
