Tourism businessman Jasim is homeless for fear of terrorists!
  Date : 20-04-2024

Cox`s Bazar Correspondent: It has been alleged that hotelier and tourist friend Mohammad Jasim Uddin has been evicted from his house in Kalatali of Cox`s Bazar due to being lured by some insidious people and framed in a false case. Nasim Akhtar Rony, wife of Jasim Uddin, alleged that my husband had signed a contract with Cox Valley Guest House in Kalatali for 3 (three) years from April 1, 2018 with a salami of Taka 20 (twenty) lakhs. Jasim Uddin used to invest another 43 (Taka forty three lakh) rupees to make the guest house quality and tourist oriented and as per the agreement, the tenant Jasim Uddin used to pay 1 lakh 60 thousand Taka per month to Absar Kamal, the husband of hotel owner Parveen Akhtar. Besides, he used to pay the electricity bill and all the expenses for the decoration of the hotel. But the hotel was closed for 4 (four) months due to lockdown. Even then my husband paid the rent until June. Parveen Akhtar and her husband Absar Kamal broke the terms of the agreement and forcibly evicted my husband and me from the hotel without paying Taka on July 23 by the armed groups after announced that the hotel-motel zone in Cox`s Bazar would be reopened on August 17 as per government instructions. In this regard, my husband filed a case on 29/07/2020 in the office of the Senior Judicial Magistrate`s Court No. 4, Cox`s Bazar, CR-478/2020. The wise court assigned Arif Iqbal, inspector of Cox`s Bazar Sadar Police Circle, to investigate the case and submit a report. She further alleged that when my husband took legal action against the unidentified persons including Parveen Akhtar and Absar Kamal, who were violating the agreement, he threatened to file a false case against the terrorists.

I appeal to the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police for redressal. According to the complaint, her husband was accused in a yaba case at Cox`s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station. Understand that the influential people have resorted to various games to embezzle Taka 63 lakh from my husband. After Jasim Uddin, he has sought high level intervention of the administration in this regard.
