BNP`s human chain at Chapainawabganj in protest of extrajudicial killings

Expressing grief and sympathy over Rashed`s death and protesting against all extrajudicial killings, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP has organized a human chain in Chapainawabganj. The human chain was held at the court premises on Wednesday morning organized by Chapainawabganj Sadar Thana and Municipal BNP. Speaking at the human chain, BNP joint secretary general and MP of Chapainawabganj-3 Sadar constituency Harunur Rashid, Sadar Thana BNP president Sadar upazila chairman Md. Tasikul Islam Tasik. Present at the time, the municipal BNP organizing secretary. Nazrul Islam, Sadar police BNP organizing secretary. Tasem Ali, district Juba Dal president Anwar Hossain and leaders and workers of BNP and its affiliated organizations. Speakers at the human chain said the BNP will try extrajudicial killings at any time in the country only if the political landscape changes. In the last 10 years, only those policemen who have been torturing the opposition have been promoted. BNP joint secretary general and Chapainawabganj-3 Sadar constituency MP Harunur Rashid said an accused died while in police custody at Chapainawabganj Sadar police station a few days ago. Although a case was filed on behalf of the family, no action was taken. MP Harun said he would provide all necessary legal assistance to the family of the deceased.
