54 landless families affected by river erosion got land at Goalanda Upazila

Sheikh Momin, Rajbari: In Goalanda Upazila of Rajbari, land was given to 54 landless families affected by river erosion due to floods: Land was given by the Upazila Administration, Goalanda, Rajbari. At around noon on Wednesday, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Goaland Upazila Abdullah Al Mamun handed over land deeds to 54 families affected by river erosion in the upazila.

It is learned that on August 12, the Goalanda Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) office has allotted 5 decimal land among more than 300 helpless landless families whose houses were destroyed due to river erosion in Daulatdia and Devgram. In the first phase, land deeds was given among 54 families. Land deeds will be distributed among the remaining families in stages. The list was compiled after looking at the actual river erosion by landless families.

Meanwhile, Goalanda Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land), Abdullah Al Mamun, said a permanent allocation of 5 per cent land from the government khas khatian is being made for listing the real landless people affected by river erosion. More will be listed in due course. No one will be landless. Later, those who have been given land will also be provided with government houses.
