Bangabandhu`s 45th Martyrdom Anniversary and National Mourning Day celebrated with due dignity at Sapahar

Jahangir Alam Manik, Sapahar: The 45th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day has been celebrated with due dignity at Sapahar in Naogaon. The program of the day was started on Saturday 15th August at 9 am by keeping the national flag at half-mast in all government and semi-government literary institutions of the upazila. At 10 am, the upazila administration and the police laid a wreath at the mural of Bangabandhu in front of the Muktijoddha Complex building. Later, youth loan checks of the youth development department were distributed and trees were planted by the upazila administration. An online discussion meeting was held at 11 am to pay homage to Bangabandhu. Local MP and Food Minister Bir Muktijoddha Sadhan Chandra Majumder was also present as the chief guest. Meanwhile, Upazila Chairman Alhaj Shahjahan Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kalyan Chowdhury, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sohrab Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sapahar Police Station Abdur Hai, Porsha and Niamatpur Upazila Chairmen, Upazila Nirbahi Officers and other officials, party leaders and workers. , Bir Muktijoddha, Sudheejan, media workers and many more.

On the other hand, the Upazila Awami League started the program by keeping the national and party flags at half-mast at the party office at 9 am on that day. Leaders and workers laid wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the party office at 9.15 am. At 9:30 am, a mourning rally was held in front of the party office and ended at the same place. At the end of the rally, a discussion meeting was held at the party office. Later, prayers, munajat and milad mahfil were held for the country and the nation with the blessings of the souls of the martyred members of Bangabandhu and his family.

Upazila Awami League President and former Upazila Chairman Alhaj Shamsul Alam Shah Chowdhury, General Secretary Alhaj and Upazila Shahjahan Hossain along with leaders and workers of Upazila Awami League and its affiliated organizations took part in all the programs. It is learned that the upazila administration has also organized a cultural program in the evening.
