Celebrating the 45th Martyrdom Anniversary and National Mourning Day of the Father of the Nation with due dignity in Kurigram

Mahfuz Ranju, Kurigram: Like the rest of the country, the 45th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is being celebrated in Kurigram with due dignity. The day started with the laying of wreaths, hoisting of national flag and party flag in front of the district Awami League office at 8 am on Saturday. After a minute`s silence was observed in the peace of his soul with the laying of wreaths on the portrait of Bangabandhu.

District Awami League president and former MP Md Zafar Ali, general secretary Aman Uddin Ahmed Monju, Awami League leader SM Abraham Lincoln and other district Awami League leaders were present. Afterwards, government and non-government organizations including district administration, police administration, district Awami League, district freedom fighters command and various educational institutions laid wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu on the occasion of the day organized by the district administration at the Independence Pillar of the college.

At the end a minute of silence and prayers were held. Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Rezaul Karim, Superintendent of Police Mahibul Islam Khan and other senior officials of the district were present.
