Bangladesh Insurance Association observed the National Mourning Day on 15th August

Press Release: On 15th August, 2020 at 4 pm a live discussion meeting was organized on the occasion of National Mourning Day in collaboration with Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) and Sonali Life Insurance through Zoom Apps. The show was broadcast live on Facebook and was watched by about 6,500 viewers.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Sheikh Kabir Hossain, President of Bangladesh Insurance Association. The meeting was attended by the chairmen, vice-chairmen, directors and chief executive officers of various insurance companies. Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority member said. M Mosharraf Hossain, FCA, Financial Institutions Additional Secretary Mr. Md. Zafar Iqbal, NDC and Senior Secretary Mr. Md. Asadul Islam were present. In the discussion meeting, various speakers reminisced about the political life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the best Bengali nation for thousands of years. At the end of the meeting, prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the souls of the victims on the night of 15th August and at the same time for the longevity and healthy life of the Prime Minister of the Government of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh.
Mr. Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, a member of the Awami League Advisory Council and a member of the BIA Executive Committee gave a good start to the discussion. He reminisced about the life of Bangabandhu. Dr. Abdus Shahid, MP, Chairman, Chartered Life Insurance Company, Mr. Alhaj Morshed Alam, MP, Chairman, National Life Insurance Company, Mr. Mahbubul Alam, Chairman, Diamond Life Insurance Company, Lt. J. (Retd.) M. Nuruddin Khan, Chairman, Delta Life Insurance, Major General Sajjadul Haque, Chairman, Army Welfare Insurance Company spoke.

In his address, Mr. Sheikh Kabir Hossain, President, BIA commemorated the day of Bangabandhu`s death. The day is extremely difficult, sad which cannot be described in words. He drew the attention of the government to find and punish those who were behind the assassination of Bangabandhu. Because Bangabandhu is associated with the insurance industry, we are able to celebrate the National Insurance Day, but if the insurance industry does not make a significant contribution to the national economy, then Bangabandhu`s dream will not come true. So we all have to work sincerely to realize Bangabandhu`s dream.
