IBBL holds Business Development Conference of its RDS

Press Release: Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited organised Business Development Conference of its Rural Development Scheme (RDS) on 21 October 2020, Wednesday at digital platform. Md. Mahbub ul Alam, Managing Director and CEO of the bank addressed the conference as chief guest. Mohammed Monirul Moula addressed the inaugural speech of the conference. Muhammad Qaisar Ali, Additional Managing Director and Abu Reza Md. Yeahia, Deputy Managing Director of the bank addressed the conference as special guest. Md. Saleh Iqbal, Deputy Managing Director attended the conference. M. Zubayer Azam Helali, Head of Rural Development Division of the bank presided over the conference. More than 3 thousand officials including Head of Zones, Head of 300 Branches, officials related to RDS and agriculture, project officers and field officers were attended the conference.

Md. Mahbub ul Alam said that, the Rural Development Scheme of IBBL is working for the welfare of the deprived and disadvantaged people of the society through financial inclusion and need based investment. 92 percent of the members of this scheme are women which is empowering the women and generating employment for them. To alleviate the poverty, IBBL RDS has brought about 1.3 million families into the mainstream of the country`s economy through collateral free investment in 26,000 villages of the country. He said, IBBL has been working for the development of the agricultural sector of the country since its inception. IBBL has been providing investment in the production, marketing and establishment of agro-based industries, use of advanced agricultural technology on priority basis.

He said, agricultural and rural investment of IBBL is the highest in the banking sector. We are continuing the investment in government-announced sector on priority basis. Around 3,000 field officials of IBBL RDS across the country are working relentlessly to spread investment in this sector. He advised the officials to work with the motto of peoples’ welfare for the development of the country and materializing the dream of Father of the Nation.
