Liaquat, Rajshahi: Two people have been seriously injured in a land dispute in West Balubhara of Naogaon`s Raninagar upazila. One of them is in critical condition. There were incidents of vandalism and looting of houses at that time. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at Ward 31 of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. A case has been filed with Raninagar police station. The accused in the case are Habibur Shah (60), son of late Chamir Shah, Jewel (35), son of Lobir Uddin, Mofiz (32), son of late Machir, Rahim (30), son of Razzak, Nayan (35), son of Jalal and Naeem (20). Mujibur`s son Liton (35) and Shafir Fakir`s son Mukul (36), all of whom live in the village of West Balbhara in Raninagar.
Russell, 43, son of Abdul Latif of Chakuji village, Chanchal, 25, son of late Aziz of West Baluvra village, Moinul, 36, son of Akher, Ujjal, 37, son of Lobir Fakir, Ranju, 30, son of Chaim and son of late Mostafizur Rahman Latif (45).
According to the case file, Anwar Hossain Pramanik, son of late Mansur Pramanik of Baluvhara village in Raninagar upazila of Naogaon district had a long-running dispute with Habibur Shah, son of late Sameer Shah of the same village. Due to this, at around 3 pm on Tuesday, 14-15 terrorists led by Habibur and his son-in-law Russell first broke into a wooden mill in front of Mozaffar Hossain`s tinshed shop under Raninagar police station. The intention of killing Habibur Shah on the orders of Habib Shah was to stab Imdadul with random knives and iron pipes. They were seriously injured and when they saw a lot of blood, they fled thinking it was a certain death. At that moment, Sohag ran away in fear.
At the same time, Anwar entered the house of Pramanik Basat with armed forces, vandalized the house and severely injured his sister Rokeya and nephew Asad with a machete and domestic weapons. As well as breaking arms and legs. Thinking that death was certain, they left him in the middle of the road and fled. At present, sister Rokeya Begum is fighting to the death at RajshahiMedicalCollegeHospital.
Plaintiff Anwar Pramanik said Habibur and his son-in-law Russell had been threatening him for a long time. Paytara is also trying to illegally occupy the place of his younger brother. In protest, they attacked with sharp weapons, injuring everyone in the house and vandalizing and looting. Anwar, the plaintiff in the case, demanded strict punishment by arresting the accused and bringing them under the law.
When Habibur, the main accused in the case, wanted to know over the phone, his son-in-law Russell received the phone and said, "My father-in-law and I are not involved in this incident in any way." We have been wrongfully accused in this case.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Raninagar Police Station Zahurul Haque said a case has been registered in this regard. The police official said that an operation is underway to arrest the accused.
