Missing minor girl found in Bagerhat pond

Online Desk : The body of a 17-day-old minor girl, who went missing from home early Monday, was recovered from a pond in Morrelganj upazila of Bagerhat on Wednesday morning.

Sujan Khan, the father of the newborn, spotted the floating body in the pond on his way home after Fajr prayers and informed the police.

Later, the law enforcers recovered the body from the pond.
Confirming the news, Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Morrelganj police station, said that the body was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The baby girl, Sohana, went missing early Monday while she was sleeping with her parents at Gabtala village, said police and family.

Later on Monday night, the baby`s grandfather Ali Hossain Khan filed a case with Morrelganj police station.
