IU celebrates 42nd University Day

H K Jibon, Islamic University: THE authorities of Islamic University celebrated its 42nd University Day on the occasion of 41st founding anniversary on the campus in Kushtia on Sunday amid festive mood and enthusiasm.
The daylong celebration included hoisting of the national and university flags, planting tree, cutting-cake and a discussion programme online.
Marking the day, the university vice chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam hoisted the national flag while pro vice-chancellor M Shahinoor Rahman hoisted the university flag in front of the university’s administration building around 10:30am.

The vice-chancellor inaugurated the programmes releasing pigeons and balloons in the sky around 10:40am.

Later, IU VC planted a total of 42 trees in the campus. A cake-cutting ceremony was held at the third floor of the university`s administration building.

Among others, IU pro VC M Shahinoor Rahman, acting registrar SM Abdul Latif, syndicate member Professor M Mahbubar Rahman, IIER director M Maher Ali and deans and chairpersons of different faculties were present on the occasion.

A discussion programme was held online in the evening where University Grants` Commission chairman Kazi Shahidullah was present as the chief guest.

National flag and the university flag hoisted atop the administrative building and all dormitories in the morning.
