Online Report : The government has formed a committee with researchers, freedom fighters and officials of Ministry of Liberation War Affairs to prepare the list of martyred Intellectuals.

The ministry issued a notification on November 19 in this regard, said a press release sent by the ministry on Wednesday.

The ministry secretary Topn Kanti Ghosh was made president of the committee while deputy secretary Rathindra Nath Datta as member-secretary.

Dhaka University professors Muntasir Mamun and Mesbah Kamal, Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee president Shahriar Kabir, 1971: Genocide-Torture Archive and Museum trustee Chowdhury Shahid Quader, and researcher Gazi Sala Uddin, National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine director Bayezid Khurshid Riaj were made members of the committee among the researchers.

Filmmaker and cultural personality freedom fighter Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bachchu, freedom fighter and researcher Lt Col (Rtd) Kazi Sajjad Jahir (Bir Pratik) were taken in the committee with the freedom fighters.

The committee will work to enlist the names of martyred Intellectuals, their father and addresses and give an opinion beside the list. They will prepare the list after verifying information from research books, newspaper cuttings, Television reports and other sources.

The committee will also define who would be counted as martyred Intellectuals among the martyred during the liberation war.

Apart from this, the committee will verify the names and applications getting from different miniseries, organisations, districts and upazilas and others sources and recommend those names to include in the list.
