There is a `conflict of interest` in Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus`s dual role as the head of the government and the chief of the National Consensus Commission, commented BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed on Wednesday.

``There is a clear clash of interest here. This government is responsible for implementing the July Charter. As a political party, we will cooperate, participate in the elections and encourage the people. But the recommendations that have been submitted to the government, I would say, deviated significantly from the spirit in which the July National Charter was signed.``
