The victory of the rebel candidate of A-League Mosharraf Hossain in Birganj

Incumbent Awami League rebel candidate Md Mosharraf Hossain Babul has been re-elected as mayor of Birganj municipality in Dinajpur. He was the president of Birganj Municipal Awami League. As he was a rebel candidate, he was expelled from all the posts including the post of president.

Awami League rebel candidate Md. Mosharraf Hossain Babul got 3,993 votes with mobile symbol. His nearest rival, the Awami League`s boat symbol candidate, lost by 47 votes. He received 3 thousand 946 votes.

He had earlier been elected mayor as a rebel candidate in the by-elections.

Assistant Returning Officer and Birganj Upazila Election Officer Md. Nur-e Alam privately confirmed the results.
