Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed on Sunday (17-01-2021) inaugurated the Abdul Wadud Sarkar 10-bed Maternal and ChildWelfareCenterHospital at Turkey in Matlab Uttar Upazila of Chandpur. Later, Army Chief Abdul Wadud Sarkar toured the 10-bed Mother and ChildWelfareCenter.

After the inauguration, the Chief of Army Staff, in response to various questions from the journalists, said that the Bangladesh Army is ready for any task provided by the government for any need of the country. Because we have a responsibility to the country. So we are obliged to fulfill any responsibility for the country.

Highlighting the success of the Bangladesh Army, General Aziz Ahmed said, "People have noticed that the army was also very active in the Corona epidemic." The government has sought the help of the army when the Prime Minister declared war on the corona virus. Then we worked at the risk of our lives for the country. In 62 out of 64 districts, 1100-1200 army members went to work every day to work for the people, create public awareness and provide masks and equipment to the people. I have treated people in a temporary hospital in the Corona epidemic. Even when pregnant mothers could not go to the hospital, the army treated them.

Highlighting the skills of the army, he said, "In this way, the army is fulfilling its strict duty like in the past." If any responsibility is given in the interest of the country in the future too, then we are always ready to do it for the welfare of the people. The army chief also said that performing such duties is a part of our training and mental preparation.

It is to be mentioned that General Aziz Ahmed came to his village for the first time after becoming the army chief to inaugurate the hospital built in the name of the father of the army chief of his village Aziz Ahmed.
