Illegal timber dumper seized in Cox`s Bazar North Forest Division operation

A special patrol team of Cox`s Bazar North Forest Department has seized an illegal timber dumper. At around 12pm on January 16 (Saturday), a special patrol led by OC AKM Ata Elahi seized about 100 cubic feet of gamma round wood of different varieties. During the special patrol, the forest department officials rescued about 100 cubic feet of gamma wood and brought it to the custody of the range along with the used dumper vehicle. AKM Ata Elahi, Range Officer and OC of Special Patrol Team, CityRange, Cox`s Bazar North Forest Department, said that the forest department is on high alert to rescue government forest lands and protect forest resources. During regular patrols, stolen gamma wood has been recovered. Sohail Rana, Assistant Forest Conservator, Cox`s Bazar North Forest Department, said a special patrol team had taken into custody a dumper range with 100 cubic feet of gamma wood. A case has been filed under the Forest Act against the persons involved, including the dumper vehicle. He called upon the Cox`s Bazar North Forest Department to provide information on the rescue of government forest lands and protection of forest resources.
