Terming communalism as a prime foe of the nation, the minister said, “We couldn’t consolidate our victory since our independence merely for communalism which is still prevailing in the country and that’s why our (martyred day) pledge would be to wipe out the venomous spree of communalism, “he said.

Calling upon the people of the country to become united, Quader said it is our commitment to uproot the communal evil forces for building a democratic and prosperous country which was dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Awami League presidium members Begum Matia Chowdhury and Colonel (retd) Faruque Khan, Joint General Secretary and Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Cultural Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua and Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan, among others, while placing wreaths.
