  Date : 23-04-2024

Alhaj Md. Abu Yusuf: Welcome to the 23rd edition of the series titled Possibilities and Fears of virtual world. In the last few episodes we have discussed various aspects of the Internet and the virtual world.

While working on the internet, we are unknowingly mentioning our personal e-mail address, name, occupation and location for various reasons.

It is being stored on one of the servers. As a result, personal information is no longer private. There is a risk of misuse of personal information. The reality is that teasing and blackmailing people by stealing personal information and pictures through the internet is on the rise. There are many cases of degrading social status through the internet. Many ordinary internet users are suffering due to a little carelessness. We`ve said before that everything has its pros and cons. There are many pros and cons to the Internet and the virtual world. Just as the Internet has become a huge source of information for us and has become a great means of saving time and money, so too has it become a source of great concern. Ordinary people are at risk of security if they are a little careless.

Girlfriends or boyfriends are now easily found on social media. They are building friendships with each other without knowing each other well. Due to the development of friendships based on opaque ideas, human emotions are no longer confined to one place. Emotions are constantly changing. Many people fall into the trap of sweet words and easily believe others. What many don`t realize is that there is no shortage of bad people on the Internet like in the real world. Many cheating girls are targeted by capitalizing on simple faith. Even traps housewives. Builds a relationship for a long time, then builds an immoral relationship and videos it and then blackmails it. Due to blackmail, simple-minded people lose everything and become destitute. Many fall into this condition and become mentally ill.

Many people do shopping and financial transactions through the internet. If you ever enter a debit or credit card password on a fraudulent website, it can be stolen. This is because some fraudulent schemes take visitors to fake websites just like any famous website. Card information is stolen while transacting on those websites. In addition, the fraud cycle involves attaching skimming devices to ATM machines. The skimming device attached to the card reader slot copies information from a magnetic strip when a customer swipes or charges his card. And set up the camera near the machine to get the PIN number of the card. Then, using that information, the members of the fraudulent clique misappropriated money.

Many are reluctant to use the Internet because of privacy and security risks. Some people refrain from making financial transactions or shopping on the Internet. Many Americans have stopped doing basic work on the Internet simply because of privacy and security risks. Because they have been so harassed on the internet that this technology is now scary to them. However, the reality is that it is not possible to completely avoid the Internet or the virtual world. It is wise to continue to use it with caution. With a few precautions, a lot of security risks can be tackled.

Public WiFi should be avoided as much as possible to keep the Internet safe. Because hackers can easily take control of devices under the same network. Never take or share a picture that could cause problems when viewed by a third party. It should be kept in mind that even if you delete the photo thousands of times, there is still a possibility to recover it, so you should refrain from taking sensitive photos. Old used phones should not be sold to strangers. Because recovering deleted data from old mobile phone, there is a risk of misuse. Sharing any kind of personal picture on social media like Facebook or Emo is not right. Because if one`s account is hacked then the other will also be in danger. Under no circumstances can your personal password be shared.

Any link should be clicked thoughtfully. Because if you click on the malware link, access to your account can go to the hacker. If you let the phone fix in the store, you should stay by the side until it is fixed. You should also refrain from exchanging dollars or pounds online. Because it is illegal in the eyes of the law. If you get into trouble while doing this transaction or if you get caught selling dollars, you will get into legal trouble. If you buy any product online, you have to check and select it well first. Any problem related to cyber crime, online blackmail, threat to spread pictures online should be reported to the police immediately. Many do not complain to the police because of embarrassment or to avoid further trouble. That`s not right. If you do not complain, the tendency of crime will increase.
