Bangladesh reports over 7000 Covid-19 cases for 2nd straight day

Online Desk: Fifty-two people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

With this the total number of deaths reaches 9,318 and death rate stands at 1.45 percent.

At least 7,075 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 6,44,439, added the release.

The infection number exceeded 7,000 mark for the second consecutive day today.

The current positivity rate is 23.40 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.39 percent.

 

A total of 30,239 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

 

At least 2,932 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 5,55,414 and the recovery rate at 86.19 percent.

Among the 52 deceased, 34 were men and 18 women while one was under 10 years old, one between 11-20, three within 31-40, six between 41-50, nine within 51-60 and 32 were above 60 years old, added the release.
