Phencidyl recovered from a truck laden with stones in DB operation

Liaquat, Rajshahi Bureau: The anti-drug drive is continuing under the direction of Police Commissioner Md. Abu Kalam Siddique with the aim of drug free and eradication of smuggling in Rajshahi metropolitan area.

A special team of Detective Inspector Rezaul Hasan, under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Md. Jewel Arefin and Assistant Commissioner of Police Md. Rafiqul Islam, set up a check post in front of Bablu Hotel near City Hats on Thursday.

The truck driver and helper tried to flee when they signaled a stone-laden truck leaving from Chapainawabganj at around 12:30 pm. The helper was able to apprehend Milon, but the driver escaped. According to the arrested helper, 300 bottles of Phensidyl were recovered from two yellow sacks covered with stones at the back of the truck.

The arrested accused Milon is the son of Ataur Rahman of Bagharpara village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district.

According to the arrested accused, Sona Masjid in Chapainawabganj district was carrying Phensidyl from the land port to Dhaka for sale at a higher price by placing Phensidyl inside the truck.

Legal action has been taken against the arrested accused, the recovered Phensidyl and the truck loaded with seized stones and the operation to arrest the fugitive accused Golam Maula is continuing.
