Humanitarian assistance of Bangladesh Navy in remote areas of the sea and coast

Press Release: The navy is distributing food, financial aid and iftar items to helpless and poor people in remote areas of Chittagong, St. Martin`s, Barisal, Patuakhali, Pirojpur, Khulna and Mongla. Members of the Navy on Saturday distributed the aid among 700 helpless fishermen and poor families in Chittagong`s port, port area and St. Martin`s. Besides, food, financial assistance and iftar items were provided to 400 helpless and poor families of Digraj Bazar, Baniyasanta and Mongla municipal areas of Mongla in Bagerhat and 300 helpless and poor families of Lalua Union in the vicinity of Banauja Sher-e-Bangla base in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district. Besides, Navy ships Salam and Karnafuli are distributing similar assistance among the poor fishermen of Barisal and Patuakhali. Besides, food, financial assistance and iftar items were provided in Labanchara, Shipyard and Harintana areas of Khulna. As food aid, each family is provided with various food and iftar items including rice, pulses, flour, gram and salt.

To deal with the situation arising out of corona, the sailors are conducting various activities to increase social awareness across the country. Besides, food, financial assistance and iftar items are being distributed to the homes of helpless and poor people in remote areas to ensure their stay at home. These activities of the Navy will continue till the situation in the country improves.
