I have come across the news published from Cox`s Bazar in today`s Daily Cox`s Bazar Barta and Eidgaon News.com on 25/04/2021 under the headline "Tree Smuggling Festival in Protected Forests of JowarianalaRange". The news is false, baseless, fabricated and motivated. The myths that are arranged in the news are basically a deep conspiracy of a court.
We are vigilant in protecting government forests. Special patrols have been intensified to prevent timber theft.
The main thing is to cross the Meherghona, Eidgaon and Eidgarh ranges from Jowarianala Range Office to Bandeba Beat by motorbike. Then it takes about 2 hours and 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach Bandeba through the protected forest of Baishari bit. The incident of timber theft reported in the newspaper did not happen there. In such a dire situation in Corona we have intensified patrolling through the staff at the JowarianalaRange. At the risk of their own lives in such a situation of corona virus, we are constantly working to protect government resources. Even then, some vested interests have set out to tarnish the image of the forest department by serving false information to the journalists. The real incident will come out if the higher authorities of Cox`s Bazar North Forest Department investigate.
Also, my personal image has been tarnished by posting my personal picture on the inset with wooden news with pictures from my Facebook profile.
Because neither my personal picture nor I Sultan Mahmud is involved in timber smuggling. And that kind of thing didn`t happen in Bandeba. I strongly condemn and protest the news.
Besides, I am requesting the journalist brothers to provide objective news by checking and sorting.
