Spending the day without food: No help
AK Sazu, Naogaon: Strict ban is in place in Naogaon like the rest of the country to prevent the spread of global epidemic corona virus. Although everything is normal in this lockdown, buses on all routes within Naogaon are closed. As a result, about 12,000 bus workers involved in this profession are spending their days without eating much. Help is not matching from anywhere. As the time of severe lockdown draws to a close, the tendency of people to go out of their houses is also increasing. Although there is no urgent need, some people are coming out with various excuses. There is no way to understand by looking at the road image anywhere that there are strict restrictions on movement in the country. All other vehicles including CNG, autocharger vans, autorickshaws, private cars are plying all over the city. But bus drivers, helpers and supervisors are having a hard time with their families as all public transport is closed due to strict restrictions. So far, no help or cooperation has been offered to these unemployed workers. The government, the transport owners, the workers` unions did not stand by these transport workers. He is spending his days with the money he had saved. Kulkinara can`t think of how to get through the future. Thousands of these unemployed workers are not getting any help from the owners `association or the workers` union. That is why the government has demanded quick financial assistance for thousands of unemployed public transport workers. Going to the Baludanga bus stand in the city, it can be seen that the bus workers are spending their time sitting and sleeping. Many people are trying to make a stove at the bus stand. Talking to bus drivers and supervisors, it has been learned that no one has extended a helping hand in the ongoing severe lockdown like last year. They say no one takes our news. About 12,000 bus workers in the district are now living in poverty. When the wheel of the bus turns, money comes into our pockets, we earn. We don`t even live on Lockdown Road, we don`t earn any money. Supervisor Abdul Jalil, driver Hasan Ali and many others said, "The bus service has been stopped since April 5 by the government. I am living in a very unrest with my family. Our strongest request to the Sheikh Hasina government is to save us. Protect us with some grants. We can`t drive rickshaws or vans, we can`t reach out to anyone. " Ehsan Reza Renza, president of Naogaon District Road Transport Owners Group, said, "It is not possible for our association to help so many workers. We ourselves are in a lot of danger. We earn our living by running the bus. We and the workers go from that income. I`m trying to do that. But this little help is not enough for the workers. So we want help from the government. " SM Matiuzzaman Moti, general secretary of Naogaon District Motor Workers Union, said, "There is a drama called Lockdown in the country. Everything is going on but only public transport has been stopped. It will be very dark when my workers will get it. And will the government be able to meet the huge demand of the workers?
