The student, a 10th class student of PanichharaSHDModelHigh School, was abducted on March 25 at around 3 pm on her way home from private school.

It has been learned that the mother of a tortured schoolgirl from Murapara Nandakhali area of Ward 3 of Jowarianala Union of Ramu Upazila has become a plaintiff in the Cox`s Bazar Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal No. 2 Cox`s Bazar Court.

On March 31, he filed a complaint against 4 people under Section 8/3 of the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Act 2000.

The wise judge accepted the plaintiff`s application in CP No. 73/2021. On April 1, Ramu directed the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station to record the complaint directly as an FIR.

The accused in the case are Kayes Uddin (21), son of Soleman, Urmi Akter (18), daughter of Osman Gani, Soleman (50), son of late Amir Hossain, Osman Gani (45), son of late Amir Hossain, in Murapara Nandakhali area of Ward 3 of Jowarianala Union of Ramu Upazila.

It is learned that Cox`s Bazar Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal No. 2, Cox`s Bazar Judge Md. Mosleh Uddin, (District and Sessions Judge) (Incharge), CP 83/2021, Order No. 1, dated 31/3/2021, Swarak No. 179, Tang-1/4/2021. A copy of the order along with photocopies of the relevant case papers were sent to the Officer-in-Charge OC Ramu Thana for information and necessary action.

According to the details of the incident, locals Urmi Akhter, Soleiman and Osman Gani had earlier proposed marriage to Kayes Uddin, 21, a regular class 10 student of Panichhara SHD Model High School (names and identities were kept secret for good reason).

The student`s family rejected the proposal as Kayes Uddin was a tomtom driver and a genius. They were furious and threatened.

Following this, on March 25, at 3 pm, on the way home from school, the victim schoolgirl reached the road of the train under construction in front of BK Azam`s Murapara in Jowarianala Nandakhali on the way home. At that time, with the help of Urmi Akhter, Soleiman and Osman Gani, Bakhate Kayes Uddin forcibly picked up the girl in a CNG autorickshaw and abducted her.

Locals chased after the schoolgirl, but could not apprehend the abductors.

Sources further said that the mother of the abducted schoolgirl immediately came to the spot after receiving the news and searched for various possible places but could not find her. He could not rescue the abductee even after learning about the incident from the people present. As a result, the mother of the schoolgirl filed a written complaint with the Ramu police station on March 26. But the police authorities accepted the statement with a seal but did not file it as a regular case. Police have not even taken any effective steps to rescue the abductees.

In the end, the mother of the abductee appeared before the Cox`s Bazar Court on March 31 as a plaintiff to get justice. She filed a complaint against 4 people under Section 8/3 of the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Act 2000.

The judge of the wise court took cognizance of the plaintiff`s application in CP case no. 63/2021.

The court also directed Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC to record the application directly to the police station as an FIR.

Meanwhile, after the incident, Ramu took her to a hotel in Chaumuhani area and raped the 10th class student against her will. Later, the rapist Kayes left under the hotel. Eyewitnesses of the local Ramu Mandalpara found the schoolgirl and informed her mother.

Witnesses took the girl to Ramu police station.

Later, Ramu police took the victim to the DistrictSadarHospital for medical examination. Ramu police station SI Nazmul is investigating the incident.

When investigating Officer SI Nazmul was contacted, he said the incident was sensitive. So an attempt is being made to unravel the real mystery of the incident.

When contacted by the plaintiff in the case, he said that the Ramu police were threatening the victim and me (the plaintiff) in various ways including swearing without arresting the accused. The accused also tried to divert the incident. In order to withdraw the case, the accused are resorting to various means besides propaganda to cover up such a heinous incident, which is very sad.

When contacted, Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC KM Ajmiru Zjaman said the incident was being investigated. The operation to arrest the accused is continuing.
