I lost my left arm and left leg in an electric accident when I was 17 years old. My father Jabbar Ali Fakir was a very poor farmer. Since then, my life has been in turmoil. At present, I have three sons and a daughter. My eldest son Yadul Islam (11) assists me in my work. Ajmira, a girl of the year, is disabled. She earns an average of 250-300 rupees a day by driving a horse-drawn carriage. Some days there is no work. I have nothing but three horses as a last resort. I have not received any official assistance so far. "But with the help of the government, I will be able to educate my sons and daughters. Disability has not overwhelmed me. I try to make a living by not having access to anyone. I am still making a living by riding a horse with the indomitable strength to move forward."
