Body formed to probe `irregularities` of outgoing RU VC
  Date : 19-04-2024

Online Desk : The Ministry of Education has formed a four-member committee to look into the alleged irregularities of outgoing Rajshahi University (RU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr M Abdus Sobhan.

The committee has been asked to submit a report within seven working days, a handout of the ministry said on Thursday.

The handout said the allegations, including recruitment business, and money misappropriation, against VC Sobhan has primarily been proved in the University Grant Commission`s (UGC) investigation.

That is why the Ministry of Education on December 10 last year urged him to keep all the recruitment activities postponed until further notice but the ministry learned that he on his last working day as VC appointed manpower against different posts, defying the ministry instruction, the handout said.
