6 killed in stampedes in Madaripur

District Correspondent : Six people were killed and at least fifty people injured in stampedes in Madaripur on Wednesday.

The incident took place in two ferries named ‘Shah Poran’ and ‘Enayetpuri’ on the way to Banglabazar in Madaripur from Shimulia in Munshiganj.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Ansar Madbar, hailing from Kalika Prasad village of Naria upazila in Shariyatpur.

Miraz Hosen, officer-in-charge of Shibchar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
