Mitu murder: Case filed against ex-SP Babul, 7 others

Staff Reporter : Former superintendent of police Babul Akter and seven other people have been sued in a case filed over the murder of his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.

Mitu’s father Mosharraf Hosen filed the case with Panchlaish Police Station on Wednesday noon.

According to the police bureau of investigation, they submitted the final report to the court in a case filed by Babul. He filed the case after the murder of his wife.

Earlier in the day, Banaj Kumar Majumder, deputy inspector general of the PBI, said at a press conference that they have found Babul’s involvement in the murder of his wife Mitu.

Mitu was shot and stabbed on the way to pick up her son from a school bus on OR Nizam Road in Chattogram on 5 June 2016. Babul was in Dhaka at that time, and he later filed a murder case with the Panchlaish police station.
