Nipun Roy released on bail

Online Report : BNP executive committee member Nipun Roy Chowdhury was released from jail on Friday (June 18) after remaining imprisoned for long two and a half months.

She was released from Dhaka Central Jail at Keraniganj at about 1:00pm.

Local BNP leaders and activists welcomed her with flower bouquets.

Earlier, Nipun Roy got bail from High Court on June 16 last.

It may be mentioned that law enforcing agencies in plainclothed arrested Nipun Roy from her residence at Rayer Bazar area in the capital on the day of hartal enforced by Hefazat-e-Islam on March 28 last.

Later, a case was filed against her on charges of subversive acts and arson with Hazaribagh Police Station.
