`Salam Salam Hajar Salam` lyricist Fazal-e-Khuda dies

Desk Report : Noted lyricist Fazal-e-Khuda, known for the song, “Salam Salam Hajar Salam” has died of Coronavirus.

He breathed his last around 4am on Sunday while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital.

Lyricist Kabir Bakul confirmed the death.

Earlier on Thursday, Fazal was admitted to the hospital after his physical condition deteriorated.

His son Wasif-e-Khuda, wife Mahmuda Sultana and his son’s wife also tested positive for the virus. Of them, Mahmuda is receiving treatment at the hospital.

Fazal is renowned for his patriotic, modern, folk, and Islamic songs. Some of his notable songs include “Je Deshete Shapla Shaluk Jhiler Jole Bhashe”, “Bhalobashar Mullo Koto, Ami Kichu Jani Na”, and “Kolshi Kaandhe Ghaate Jai Kon Rooposhi”, among others.

He was listed as a lyricist on radio in 1963. A year later, he was listed as a lyricist on television. He started out as an author of poems. He has served as the regional director of Dhaka Betar.
