Woman killed when a truck hit her on Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid highway

Faysal Azam Apu, Chapainawabganj: A woman was killed when a truck hit her at Harinagar-Pittala junction of Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid highway. The deceased have been identified as Nasima Akter, 40. Her daughters 6 months old Siddika and 8 years old Nafiza also injured. The incident took place on the Harinagar-Pittala junction of Shibganj upazila around 11:30 am on Monday. The deceased Nasima Akter, 40, wife of Shahed Ahmed of Nayalabhanga village in Shibganj upazila. According to the police, Nasima and her two daughters were going to Chapainawabganj by autorickshaw. On reaching Harinagar Pittala area, a fast moving truck from Chapainawabganj hit the autorickshaw. Nasima died on the spot. His two daughters Siddique and Nafiza were injured. Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to Chapainawabganj Modern Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Shibganj Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Farid Hossain said the body of the deceased was recovered from the spot. However, the truck and its driver could not be apprehended. He also said that the body of the deceased has been handed over to the family on the basis of an application as the family of the deceased has not filed a case.
