District administration paid Tk. 2,000 to rickshaw and easy bike drivers
  Date : 20-04-2024

M. Ayub, Jessore: The district administration is giving a grant of Tk 2,000 to auto rickshaw and easybike drivers who came to the city during the lockdown in Jessore. This initiative has been taken to stop coming out of the house in lockdown. The grant is being given with the help of Sonali Bank. The program has been started from Monday.

Additional District Magistrate Kazi Sayemuzzaman said on Monday night that out of 36 drivers of auto rickshaws and easybikes in Oidin town, Tk. 2,000 to Tk. 72,000 was paid. At that time, the administration temporarily kept their rickshaws and easy bikes at Eidgah Maidan. Rickshaws and easybikes seized at the end of the lockdown will be returned, the additional district magistrate said. Kazi Sayemuzzaman said that this program will continue.

Many in Jessore have commented that the district administration`s program is positive. Auto rickshaw and easybike drivers also took it positively. Roman, an easybike driver, said, "If we have the means to run the family, why should we drive in Corona." Tosharf Hossain, an auto rickshaw driver, said the same thing.
