Cattle trader shot dead in Feni: Still elusive main accused

Feni Correspondent: Councilor Abul Kalam, the main accused in the murder of cattle trader Shahjalal in Sultanpur, Feni, is still missing. Kalam has covered his body since the incident. Although 12 days have passed since the incident, his whereabouts do not match in any way. Police say they are trying their best to catch him. Meanwhile, Shahjalal`s father Abdul Jabbar of Kishoreganj expressed dissatisfaction that the main accused was not caught.

According to a source, the police conducted several raids in different places to nab Kalam. However, he could not be arrested.

Earlier on Friday morning, police recovered Shahjalal`s body from a pond on Aminbazar Road adjacent to Feni Girls Cadet in Feni Municipality.

Anwar Hossain, a member of Sutarpar UP in Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj, filed a case against Kalam as the main accused. The other accused in the case are Naimul Hasan, son of Nazim Uddin of South Mandia in Chagalnaiya and Raju, son of Dulal of Mofiz Member Bari in Birinchi area of ​​Feni town. Councilors Kalam and Raju have been absconding since the incident. Police have arrested Naimul Hasan. He confessed in court under section 164.

Witnesses to the incident say that local councilor Abul Kalam and his two accomplices shot and killed Shahjalal, a cattle trader, while he was in the Sultanpur area. Kalam and his accomplices picked up his body on a motorcycle and left it in a pond on the side of Amin Bazar Road.

Meanwhile, the district police department said that the police are making every effort to arrest the accused Kalam in the fugitive sensational case.

Feni`s Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Crime) Mainul Islam said all efforts were on to nab Kalam.
