Death increases by corona in Kushtia Hospital due to extreme mismanagement
  Date : 24-04-2024

Kushtia Correspondent: Hundreds of corona positive patients at KushtiaCoronaDedicatedHospital are groaning in agony of death. Many patients are dying without any treatment in front of their relatives. Every hour a patient dies at the 200-bed CoronaDedicatedHospital in Kushtia. During the 7 days of Eid, only 111 corona positive patients died in the hospital. In one month, 314 people have died while undergoing treatment and so far more than 500 corona patients have died in the second phase of corona. Relatives are breaking down in tears after leaving the hospital with the body of their loved one. Everyone complained that they did not get any treatment in the hospital. There is no crisis of anything including oxygen in the hospital. Yet many people are dying every day. This information has come up in the search of Jugantar. There are allegations of gross mismanagement of hospital authorities and negligence of doctors and nurses. Details of oxygen quality and pressure in the cylinder were found. Even getting oxygen cylinders is being demanded as a bribe. The relatives complained that even at the last moment of death, the relatives could not call any doctor or nurse. No one is getting proper treatment in the hospital due to extreme mismanagement, negligence and carelessness of the authorities. Besides, many patients are dying even though they did not get oxygen cylinders on time. Most family members complain that it is difficult to match oxygen cylinders without money. Several patients have died in the hospital in the last few days due to non-availability of oxygen cylinders. An investigation committee has been formed under the direction of Kushtia Sadar MP Mahbubul Alam Hanif. It is learned that KushtiaCoronaDedicatedHospital does not have oxygen crisis at present. However, there are many complaints about the quality of oxygen. As per the rules, the pressure of the oxygen cylinder should be above two thousand. But locally refilled oxygen cylinders at KushtiaCoronaDedicatedHospital have maximum pressure from 1300 to 1400. According to the relatives of the patient, the large size cylinder refilled locally is not going for more than one and a half hours. But the same size cylinder from Jessore is being given to the patient for 5-6 hours. The same allegation was leveled against the BCL leaders and activists in charge of the hospital volunteers. "I can`t say anything about it," said Arfuzzaman, a doctor in charge of oxygen management at the hospital. You talk to the hospital caretaker.
